Configure Public Website As a Knowledge Source For Microsoft Copilot Agent

In this article, I’ll explain how you can use a public website as a knowledge source for a Copilot agent. As a Power Platform developer, you might already know that we can create Copilot agents for different data sources like SharePoint, Dataverse, Salesforce, and Dynamics 365, etc.

In the same way, we can also use a public website link as a knowledge source. This allows us to create a Copilot agent that can give answers based on the information available on that website. Let’s see how to achieve this in the section below.

Add a Public Website As a Knowledge Source to Copilot Agent

In the example below, I created a Copilot agent called “Academy Agent” using our company’s public website link. This site includes details about our products and the courses we offer. Now, when I ask questions related to that page, the agent gives accurate responses based on its content.

Now, we’ll see the steps to create a Copilot agent and add a public website link as a source.

  1. Open the Copilot Studio. Either click on “Create” or the “Agents” button in the left navigation, and you will see “+ New agent.” Click on it.

  1. It will open the page below. Click on Configure, which opens the Details page. Provide the agent’s Name and Description. Then, click on Create.

  1. Once the agent is created successfully! Click on the Knowledge tab-> +Add knowledge button.

  1. Now, the Add knowledge page will open, as shown below. Then, choose the Public Websites option.

  1. Now, provide the public website link, then click the Add button and change the Name of the link.
    Next, click the Add to agent button. Then you’ll see the link is Ready. So, click on the ellipses (…) to either edit, delete, or open the link. In the example below, you see that my website link is open.

  1. We successfully added the public website link as Knowledge to the Copilot agent. Now it’s time to ask questions. I’m giving some questions related to my company’s website URL. You can ask about it, in case you provided other public website URLs, and ask questions related to those links.

2. List all course titles and their prices from SPGuides Learning Academy. Provide the answer in a table format?

3.Can you please give me a overview on power apps employee satisfaction survey app from SPGuides Learning Academy?
