Unable to start debugging on the web server error in Asp.Net

Recently I got this error while trying to debug my asp.net application. The full error message is “Unable to start debugging on the web server. Could not start ASP.NET debugging. More information may be available by starting the project without debugging.”.

The Asp.Net is hosted on my local IIS. So the problem occurred because I have changed the network password. And the Application pools are still using the old one which was the cause of the issue.

So I go to inetmgr and change the password for the particular application pool and then did an IISRESET and that worked for me.

For this go to Start -> Run -> type inetmgr and click on OK. This will Open the IIS.
Now click on the Application Pools from the left-hand side. This will open all the application pools. Right click on the desired application pool then Advanced Settings. Now this will open
the Advanced Settings dialogbox. From there navigate to the Process Model section and there click on the username … This will open the Application Pool Identity dialog box. There is the custom account click on Set. This will allow putting username and password, Then click on OK.

Now do an IISRESET. It should work now.
