In this post, we will discuss how we can resolve the error which comes while adding a new synchronization connection. The error comes as:

There was no endpoint listening at http://URL/ResourceManagementService/MEX that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.

The error comes when we try to add a new synchronization connection for active directory. The error comes looks like below:

There was no endpoint listening at http://URL/ResourceManagementService/MEX that could accept the message while add new synchronization connection
There was no endpoint listening at http://URL/ResourceManagementService/MEX that could accept the message while adding a new synchronization connection

Solution:
Need to check if Forefront Identity Manager Service is running or not.

Log in to the server and then Go to Start -> Run -> Services.msc

If it is not Running then Right click and then Start. The status should look like below:

There was no endpoint listening at http://URL/ResourceManagementService/MEX that could accept the message while add new synchronization connection
There was no endpoint listening at http://URL/ResourceManagementService/MEX that could accept the message while adding a new synchronization connection

Then the error should not come.

Hope this will be helpful.
