Take backup in Sql server using management studio

In this post, we will discuss how we can take backup of a database using SQL Server 2008.

To take backup to follow below steps:

Right click on the database then Select Tasks -> Back up… as shown in the figure below:

Now it will open a dialog box, there by default it will take the path of
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Backup\

But if you want you can change that. For this click on Add then it will Select Backup Destination dialog box.

There you can select the new path and click on OK as shown in the figure below:

After that, the path will be selected like below. Then click on Ok, it will take the back to the selected location.
