Switch to new document library view in Office 365 SharePoint Online

In this post, we will discuss how we can switch to the new document library view in Office 365 SharePoint Online. The new experience is very much faster as well as it provides simpler navigation, also some other features.

Now, if you will open a SharePoint online site and if you visit any document library, you can see a look and feel like below:

New Office 365 SharePoint Online Home Page Experience

We can enable the new document library from an individual library as well as from the Admin center.

To enable in the document library, Open your SharePoint Online document library in the browser. Then click on Library Settings button from the ribbon. Then from the gear icon, then click on Library settings link which is under SharePoint Settings like below:

From the Library Settings page, click on Advanced settings which is under General Settings. In the Advanced Settings page visit down and go to the “List experience” section. It shows us 3 options:
– Default experience set by my administrator
– New experience
– Classic experience

Here choose New Experience radio button as shown in the fig below:

Enable New Experience in Admin Center:

We can also change the new library experience from the Admin Center. From the App Launcher, click on Admin icon.

Then expand Admin centers and click on SharePoint link like below, which will open the SharePoint Admin Center.

From the Settings section, go to the “SharePoint Lists and Libraries experience” and there select the checkbox “New experience (auto detect)” like below:

Once you will enable anyone option, you can see the new SharePoint library experience.

1- You can see a button like New, Upload Sync, Quick edit.
2,3- Click on the Tiles button to see the documents in Tiles view.

You can select an individual document and Pin to top like below:

After this the pinned post will appear at the top like below:
