  • Select Manage additional admins.

  • Enter the name of the user whom you want to make administrator.
  • Click on save to add and if you want to remove site collection administrator, then click on the cross icon next to the user/site collection admin name.

From SharePoint site

  • Open SharePoint modern site
  • Click on Gear icon/settings-> Site permission
