Here we will discuss how to create & Using Hero web part in SharePoint online communication site template.

Hero web part:
It will display the content up to 5 tiles and layers. Open SharePoint online portal and Create a communication site with “Blank”.

Blank Layout – This design stays empty when we choose on this, so now am going to display how to create and use “Hero Web part” in communication sites.

So now the site has been created, now you able to see the blank layout is visible, only navigation itself visible in the page.

Click on the “Edit” Button at the top right corner

Click Add a new section or a web part

Section:- The sections have been separated into one column, two column, three column, Full-width web part, one third left column and one third right column
Am just select the full-width web part on this web part we can add image gallery or Hero web part

Pick the Hero web part.

Now you can see the select link to link up the pages, documents, and images inside your sharepoint communication sites. Click on the “Select Link”. In the pop up Click Upload.

After choosing the links from the set of images – > Click Publish

Click on the Edit Button

You can now see the layout of Hero Web part.

By default, selected Five Tiles, you are able to control the how many of images need to show in Tile view up to 5 contents. You can also view the contents into a set of layers Up to 5 items.

Now Am select “Five Layers” -> Close the pop-up
Click Save -> Publish

So now the left section in the blank on all the Five layers
Let’s go and add the title, description for each link
Click on the Edit button on the Each layer section

You can also change the link and include different page or document into it. Provide the title and description of each link.

For Image thumbnail, you have got two option

Autoselect: It chooses the preview image automatically based on the links, pages, and documents
Custom Image: For this one, we have to choose the image whatever we want to show
Alternative Text: Provide the alternative text for the image

Under options itself we can provide the heading highlight for each link, It works cool when displaying each layers with contents.

You have options to hide and show the topic in the page. The Final one is Call to action link.

Am going to change the call to action link enable. And change the call to action text to read more.

Click close and Publish the page. The call to action link will be taken by default, you won’t change it. So Finally, we got like this am just snipping the one layer for the example.
