SharePoint 2013 TypeError Cannot read property replace of undefined

In this post we will discuss how to resolve the below issue which comes in SharePoint 2013 list view after an windows update. The error looks like below when we open list view. Rather than showing list items in the view, it shows like below:

TypeError: Cannot read property ‘replace’ of undefined

Recently in one of the working SharePoint environment we got the above issue and that was working fine previously.

After doing some analysis we got to know that Windows team did some patch update.

Then we follow this technet article to resolve the issue.

To fix this issue you can install below fixes.
KB 3114508 – Download location: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=50667

Or you can try installing January 2016 CU for SharePoint 2013.

We tried the second approach and it works fine for us.
