In this post we will discuss how we can remove the suite bar in SharePoint 2013 or SharePoint 2013 Online. In SharePoint 2013 suite bar comes as a new feature which looks like below:
If you want to remove that, then you can modify in the master page.
It is better to create a new master page and then modify on that new master page.
You can Open the master page in SharePoint 2013 designer and then search for the below tag:
<SharePoint:DelegateControl id=”ID_SuiteLinksDelegate” ControlId=”SuiteLinksDelegate” runat=”server” />
This is the Delegate control which generated that one. You can check out an article on how to create Delegate Controls in SharePoint 2013 using Visual Studio 2013
Remove the tag from the master page or you can comment the tag in master page. The suite bar will not appear.
Remember after removing the tag, make sure to set the master page as the default master page, as well as if publishing required then publish the master page as major version. Hope this will be helpful.
