Microsoft Flow is a new workflow tool that enables business users to create automation to receive notifications, synchronize files, and get data between your favorite apps and services, be it on-premise or in the cloud.
This is a new workflow management tool for automating workflows across applications and services by connecting web services, files, and cloud-based data.
We can connect with various services like SharePoint, Office 365, OneDrive, Twitter, Facebook, Dropbox, Outlook, Instagram, Outlook, Yammer, Excel, Google Calendar etc.
Microsoft provides various built-in templates to use in Flow, which you can see it here.
To use this template login to the Microsoft Flow site and the search for “Save tweets that include specific hashtag to a SharePoint list“.
Then click on the template to use it. Then we need to authenticate both SharePoint and Twitter. Here my SharePoint is already authenticated, so I have to just update Twitter. Here it will also ask you to authorize the app.
Once the connection is successful, it will enable to Continue button like below:
Then in the search text, enter the hashtag text which you want to Save into the SharePoint site. In this example, you can see we have added search text as #MicrosoftFlow, so if a new tweet has been added with the hashtag as #MicosoftFlow, it will save to the SharePoint site.
Then we have modified the Create item action. First, we have added the Site URL, then choose the list where you want to save the tweet details. For this demo, there is a custom list name as “MicrosoftFlowTwitterTest” which has a Title column.
Then Title we have added some custom text and then Added the Name of the person who added the Tweet and we added the tweet text. So the Action looks like below:
Then click on the Create flow button which will create the flow.
