In this post, we will discuss how to install workflow manager in SharePoint 2013. In SharePoint 2013 we can able to created workflows in two platform types. You can create SharePoint 2013 workflow type as well as SharePoint 2010 platform type.

SharePoint 2010 workflow platform installs automatically when you install SharePoint server 2013. But to make SharePoint 2013 workflow platform available in SharePoint designer 2013, we need to install and configure workflow manager.
Follow the below steps:
First download workflow manager from this Microsoft URL.
Click on the Setup file. Then click on Install.
Then click on I Accept in the screen as shown in the fig below:
Then it will install the progress as shown in the fig below:
Once successfully, it will Install successfully, click on Continue it will ask to configure.
Then click on Configure Workflow Manager with Default Settings (Recommended) option as shown in the fig below:
Then in the New Farm Configuration wizard, give SQL server instance, service account details, Certificate Generation Key etc.
Then it will display configuration manager details like below:
Then click on the Checkmark to start configuration.
It will display the Configuration progress like below:
Once the configuration is over. Then Open SharePoint 2013 Management Shell. Then run the below command.
Register-SPWorkflowService -SPSite “http://win-pfcp2dgt8di/sites/EnjoySharePoint/” -WorkflowHostUri “http://localhost:12291” -AllowOAuthHttp

You can check in the Central Admin it will show Workflow Service Status and it will show as “Workflow is Connected” as shown in the fig below:
Now if you want to check whether SharePoint 2013 workflow platform is installed on or not, you can open SharePoint 2013 designer, then you can create a SharePoint list workflow, you will be able to see the platform as shown in the fig below:
