Increase column size in sql server 2008

In this post, we will discuss the script to increase column size in sql server 2008.

Below is the script to increase the column size of a table in sql server 2008.
use TestDB
ALTER TABLE Employees ALTER COLUMN Name varchar(256)
Here Employees is the table name.
Name is the column name which was of size 50.
Once you execute the script, the size of Name column will become 256.
