How to Configure Outlook for Office 365

This Office 365 Outlook tutorial, we will see how to configure outlook for Office 365. We will see how to set up Office 365 outlook manually also.

Also, we will see how to add another email account to outlook 365 and office 365 outlook exchange server (mail server) and ports required to configure Outlook for Office 365.

How to configure outlook for office 365

Before this step, I hope you already have an Office 365 subscription and you have installed Outlook for Office 365 in your local system like Windows 10.

Here we will see how to configure outlook for Office 365 as well as how to add another email account to outlook 365.

Open Outlook for Office 365, click on File -> Add Account like below:

Or you can also click on Account Settings -> Account settings… like below:

This will open the Account settings dialog box where we can add email accounts.

Here click on Email -> New…

In both the cases it will open the below dialog box. Here enter the Office 365 email address like below:

Click on Connect. Then enter the password and click on Sign in.

How to configure Outlook for Office 365

Then in the next screen, click on Yes.

It will show a account added successfully message like below:

Once you click on Done, it will show Account successfully added and it will be visible after you Restart Outlook for Office 365.

Once you restart outlook, you can see the email id with folders like Inbox, Draft, Send Items, Deleted Items, Archive etc.

How to Configure Outlook for Office 365

Now, we will see how to configure outlook for Office 365 manually.

If you want to set up outlook for office 365 manually, then enter the email address and then check the checkbox “Let me set up my account manually” which is in the Advanced Options.

Then select Office 365 option like below:

In the next screen you can do the Offline Settings like below:

Then it will display Account successfully added like below. Restart and then you can see the email account added into Office 365 Outlook.

Office 365 outlook mail server and port details

If you want to configure POP or IMAP, then below are the Office 365 outlook mail server and port details that you can use.

IMAP Settings:

Incoming Server Details:

  • Server: outlook.office365.com
  • Port: 993
  • Encryption: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Server Details (SMTP Settings)

  • Server: smtp.office365.com
  • Port: 587
  • Encryption: STARTTLS

POP Settings:

Incoming Server Details:

  • Server: outlook.office365.com
  • Port: 995
  • Encryption: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Server Details (SMTP Settings)

  • Server: smtp.office365.com
  • Port: 587
  • Encryption: STARTTLS

You can check more email settings for Gmail, iCloud, AOL, MSN, Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, Yahoo.cm etc from this Office URL.

Configure Outlook for Office 365 manually (POP/IMAP)

We can also configure Outlook for Office 365 manually for POP/IMAP account settings.

In the below screen, enter the email address and check the checkbox “Let me set up my account manually” like below:

Then you can select POP or IMAP like below in the screen.

Then you can enter the incoming and outgoing mail server details (POP). Enter the office 365 outlook ports for the POP account settings like below.

If you have selected IMAP, then you can change the ports by following the above office 365 outlook mail server details.

Click on Next and then put the password and then it will show account successfully added like below:

Once you restart the Outlook, the account will be added.

How to remove an email account from Outlook for Office 365

Now, we will see how to remove email account from Outlook for Office 365.

Click on File -> Account Settings -> Account Settings….

Then select the email account which you want to remove from Outlook. Then click on the Remove button like below:

It will show a confirmation message offline cache content will be deleted like below:

Once you click on Yes, the email account will be removed from Office 365 Outlook.
