GridView in PowerShell in SharePoint

powershell out gridview

Issue

When I try to validate all the service applications associated in a FARM using PowerShell I am not able to read the output as it is beyond the windows size.

PowerShell Command to list all the service application details in a FARM:

Get-SPServiceApplication

powershell sharepoint 2013
powershell sharepoint 2013

Solution:  using ” | gridView” in PowerShell

In PowerShell, we have an option to redirect the output to GridView using ” | gridview” as shown below:

powershell gridview
powershell gridview

Advantages in using GridView

  1. When we use GridView it will redirect the output to Grid View which is very easy to read through the output
  2. You can add the filters on the output data
  3. You can sort the data then and there
  4. Easily add new criteria on the output data
powershell out gridview
powershell out gridview

Hope this helps, happy development in SharePoint !!!
