In this Power automate tutorial, we will discuss how to get a push notification when a new file is added to OneDrive for Business.
In this particular flow example, we will see how to send an email notification using flow when someone uploads a file to OneDrive for business.
In flow, there are lots of templates provided by Microsoft to work with various apps and services where we can implement our workflows faster.
In the example, we will see how to use “Get a push notification when a new file is added OneDrive for Business” flow template.
Get a push notification when a new file is added to OneDrive for Business
Step-1: To create any flow, Login to Microsoft Flow, and then search for the template “Get a push notification when a new file is added to OneDrive for Business”.
Here you need to make sure, you have permission to OneDrive for Business and you will receive the configured notifications like below:
Step 2: Next click on Continue to redirect to the next page. Here you have to provide your folder name from your OneDrive, where you want to configure the flow.
Next, there is a step called Send me a Mobile notification. If your notification is configured already, then provide the values for the required field as per the below screenshot.
Step 3: Here I have added one more step called “Send an email notification”. Because I want to send here an email notification also.
You have to configure the required fields like To, Subject, and Body of the email. You can modify it as per your requirement.
Step 4: This completes our flow and the entire flow looks like the below screenshot.
Now, save this flow.
Step 5: Now, we can test our flow.
Go to your OneDrive for business and go to the same folder on which you have configured the flow above. There upload a document like below.
Step 6: Here is the email which I received, after the document gets uploaded in the OneDrive for Business.
