SharePoint Server 2019

Investment

Note :

If you don’t want to use the online option and you want the SharePoint 2016 enterprise license cost, the costs are a bit higher. For the standard CAL, you will have communities, content, sites, and search.

However if you go with the Enterprise CAL, you have all of the above as well as business intelligence and business solutions. So the costs do tend to add up quite a bit here, and all you have to do is to make the right pick as you adapt to suit your needs.

If you inquire the SharePoint 2016 enterprise license cost, this will be around $7000 per server. Prices can differ based on when you choose to do this. However, you can expect them to be around this number, more or less. If you need more than a single server, you can identify the price based on how many servers you actually need.

  • No Hardware Cost- no hardware cost required to use SharePoint online.
  • No maintenance required to a server as this taking care by Microsoft.

Note: SharePoint Online offer three different plan . Plan 1 is $5 per user per month and offers the features most needed by small to mid-sized organizations. Plan 2 is $10 per user per month, and it offers all of the features of SharePoint online, so it’s fully capable of handling the needs of an enterprise. Plan 3 is $20 per user per month and requires a 12-month commitment. It includes all of the features of SharePoint, as well as a host of Microsoft Office applications.

Security

  • By default configured with SSL (always https) and not manual effort needed
  • For Data encryption, no custom security can be implemented and you have to choose from the existing ones such as ISO 27001, Safe Harbor, SSAE16 SOC1 Type II, FISMA etc

Development

  • Full trust solution cannot be deployed- Only Sandbox solutions possible with scope up to the site collection level
  • Public facing website with much of customization is not possible
  • Custom “Managed Path” allowed
  • More control cannot be delegated to power users and the maxim privilege level is Site Collection level.
