Default breadcrumb for document library SharePoint 2013

InfoPath alternatives for form designing SharePoint

In this post we will discuss how we can bring back default breadcrumb for list or document libraries in SharePoint 2013. Just to let you know that if you are using default master page in SharePoint 2013, then you do not need to do anything, it will come by default. Here we have faced the issue in a new custom master page. While designing the new master page, some how they removed the tags from them.

The solution that worked for us is that we copy the below tag from the seattle master page (seattle.html) and put in our mycustommaster.html page. Then we publish and approve the master page and it started showing the breadcrumb.

<h1 id=”pageTitle” class=”ms-core-pageTitle”>
<!–SPM:<SharePoint:AjaxDelta id=”DeltaPlaceHolderPageTitleInTitleArea” runat=”server”>–>
<!–SPM:<asp:ContentPlaceHolder id=”PlaceHolderPageTitleInTitleArea” runat=”server”>–>
<!–SPM:<SharePoint:SPTitleBreadcrumb
runat=”server”
RenderCurrentNodeAsLink=”true”
SiteMapProvider=”SPContentMapProvider”
CentralAdminSiteMapProvider=”SPXmlAdminContentMapProvider”>–>
<!–PS: Start of READ-ONLY PREVIEW (do not modify)–><span id=”ctl00_DeltaPlaceHolderPageTitleInTitleArea”>Home</span><!–PE: End of READ-ONLY PREVIEW–>
<!–SPM:<PATHSEPARATORTEMPLATE>–>
<!–SPM:<SharePoint:ClusteredDirectionalSeparatorArrow runat=”server” />–>
<!–SPM:</PATHSEPARATORTEMPLATE>–>
<!–SPM:</SharePoint:SPTitleBreadcrumb>–>
<!–SPM:</asp:ContentPlaceHolder>–>
<!–SPM:</SharePoint:AjaxDelta>–>
</h1>

Hope this will be helpful.
