While trying to add an item to a list I got the error as Updates are currently disallowed on GET requests.To allow updates on a GET,set the 'AllowUnsafeUpdates' property on SPWeb.

or you can use flickr or picasa to upload images. After that paste the image url in the editor image dialog box.
