Find duplicate items in a SharePoint 2010 list

Durga Samantray Views: 1855 List and Library	Through SharePoint 2010 client object model I am adding item to a SharePoint list which has a field as Email ID. I want to find out if is thare any way I will get wether the current item with same email id is already exist in the list or not. I do not want to iterate through all the list items.
