Views are ways to display SharePoint list data. To create a view follow below steps:
First Click on the Lists and Libraries from the site objects tab from the left side. This will open all the lists and Document libraries as shown in the figure below:
In the next step Right click on the list for which you want to create the view and then click on List settings as shown in the figure below. This will open the list settings page.
Then from the list settings page click on New... as shown in the figure below:
This will open the Create New List View dialogbox, Give the view name and click on OK. Also if you want to make this as default view then check the checked box in the form as shown in the figure below:
This will create the custom view. Now it is time to customize something. Select the View and click on Ribbon as shown in the figure below:
This will show the [viewname].aspx page with all the master page assigned with it. click on the design view, it will display proper as shown in the figure below:
Now you can add or remove columns by clicking on Add/Remove columns from the Ribbon. This will open the display fields dialog box, there you can add or remove columns as per your requirements as shown in the figure below:
Similarly you can do paging by click on the Pagging button in the Ribbon as shown in the figure below. There you can set the page size and the total number of records to show.
Similarly you can sort or group the list by clicking on the Sort & Group button in the Ribbon. This will open the Sort and Group dialogbox. There you can select in which field you want to sort as well as weather you want to sort in Ascending order or Descending order as shown in the figure below.
